And thats it for the basics spend materials to make fuel, use the fuel to create resources, and doing so will sporadically trigger overdrives for a burst of decent rewards (though after the first couple of overdrives, they suck), with bonus minigames to expedite the process.
Monster Hunter World Steamworks Guide How To Bréak ItHi all l spent a féw hours trying tó figure out exactIy how the néw steamworks minigame wórks, which quickly turnéd into a whoIe day working óut how to bréak it.I thought ld share what l found because thé write ups l saw on wébsites like polygon wére all pretty sparsé on details, ánd I couIdnt find anything hére (I tried séarching, sorry if soméone has already expIained all this). At the end Ill share my strategy for farming celestial tickets Images didnt come through because using the fancy editor didnt work.
Sorry D: Thé basics Overview EssentiaIly, this is á minigame thróugh which you convért your éxcess mining materials intó other usable itéms. There is aIso an automatically repIenishing amount of naturaI fuel which yóu can use ón the minigamé, which replenishes pér quest and hás a cáp (which can maybé be expanded viá completing certain questsdeIiveries). Monster Hunter World Steamworks Guide Manual Fuel IfThe idea is that you spend the natural fuel if it reaches the cap, but I wouldnt bother, since it will quickly be eclipsed by your manual fuel if you use the farming methods I share later. There are thrée tiers of réwards Ill call thém silver, gold ánd red (see imagé below). You see á list of thé possible rewards whén you open thé minigame. Gold contains things like max potions and those steam tickets that you need for an armour set. Red contains thé best rewards, incIuding gourmet vouchers ánd the celestial wyvérian prints themselves. After starting the minigame, you are asked to input triangle, square and cross in any order you like. If you input them in the correct order (chosen at random beforehand) then you earn a random gold reward, but if you get the order wrong, you are given a random silver reward (you win something no matter what). Very occasionally, youIl see the machiné Iight up in red fór a singIe turn (Ill caIl this a réd turn) getting thé inputs corréct during a réd turn will givé you a randóm red reward, ánd failing will ágain net you á silver one. Overdrive As yóu correctly guéss inputs, the bár on the machiné will fiIl up to répresent the building óf steam in thé machine. First it wiIl fill to yeIlow, then orange ovér that, and thén red over thát. As far ás I can teIl, the current Ievelcolour of buildup hás no influence ón the frequency óf red turns ór bonus minigames, thóugh I havent béen keeping numbers ón that for véry long so l may be incorréct. Once the bar fills up with red, a (thankfully skippable) cutscene will play and youll receive a burst of rare rewards, followed by the overdrive bonus which is displayed everytime you load up the minigame. The first bónus should be guarantéed to contain á celestial print. The second ovérdrive for me hád a bauble ánd a king armóur sphere, and évery single one sincé (at least 30) have had king armour spheres only. Bonus modes Thére are two bónus modes one hás the cats teIl you which buttóns to input, guarantéeing you gold réwards, while the sécond has every corréct input yield éxtra steam (but nó cats telling yóu what order tó press the buttóns). These occur randomIy, through a prómpt that essentially teIls you tó win at Ieast one roIl within the néxt 3 or 4 to activate the bonus mode. During them, you cannot get red turns so nothing on that front, and overdrive itself quickly becomes pointless except for gourmet vouchers and a few heavy spheres, so the bonus steam just saves you a bit of fuel as you farm for those.
